At art club this past week we celebrated the season with some artsy pumpkin carving!

Art Club 2011.

We are offering some beautiful, hand-pulled prints made by teachers and students.  The prints are 8″x10″ and fit into a standard frame.  They are $10 each and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Red Cross to help the people affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Art Week is fast approaching and the art club is working hard to make the event a success.  Art Week will be from March 1-7.  We will have lunch and after school activities on March 1, 2, and 3.  The week will end with a student art show and sale on March 7th from 6:30-8pm at the curriculum fair in the gym. 

Art 1 did a great job with their final projects!  They are based on the art style of Keith Haring and personalized with each students creative style.

Every year the National Art Honors Society puts on an art camp for the local elementary school students.  The students are nominated to partcipate by their teachers.  We did three projects this year; marbleized paper using shaving cream, rock painting, and a printmaking project.  The kids made great art and everyone had a good time.  Here are some of the pictures…
